A report of an active shooter situation involving one or more shooters and perhaps many victims prompted police and medical personnel to hurry to the Safeway at the Forum Shopping Center in northeast Bend this evening. We have crews on the way/at the spot.
On Sunday night, police were summoned to the Safeway in the Forum Mall in northeast Bend after reports of one or two active shooters and potential several casualties.

The 911 dispatcher in Deschutes County had multiple calls shortly after 7 o’clock. Numerous reports of gunfire were reported near the mall on NE 27th Street and Highway 20.

Some callers reportedly said they saw someone dressed in black, while others said it may have been a man with two duffel bags entering the grocery store.

Others heard gunfire from nearby Costco to the east.

“An active investigation has been launched in the Forum Mall area. Please avoid this area. More updates to follow as the investigation continues,” Bend police said in a tweet.

Paramedics from the Bend Police Department, the Oregon State Police Department, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Deputy, the Oregon State Police Department, and the Bend Fire and Rescue Department received modifications at the scene, including armored vehicles, and they reported that one or more The suspect may have left the area.
