The rapper was killed in a shooting at a bowling alley in Houston overnight. The 28 year old rapper’s, whose real name is krosnick khari vollyball, was ki!led in a shooting at a bowling alley a hotsoun.
The rapper known as take off a subtle vocal technician and one-third of the chart-topping group Migos, whose singsong flow helped define Atlanta’s ever-evolving, influential rap sound, was shot and killed overnight outside a Houston bowling alley, the authorities said. He was 28.
TakeOff was a 28-year old rapper who apparently was the youngest member of the Atlanta-based music group Migos.
The first major hit of the group was the track called “Versace” in 2013. They earned an ASCAP Vanguard Award in 2018 which was also one of their major achievements.
TakeOff’s cousin, Offset who is the third member of the group is married to Cardi B.
Police received a call of a shooting in progress around 2:34 a.m. local time, Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner said at a news conference Tuesday. Officers arrived to the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston where there was a private party and found a dead man at the scene.
According to police, the private party was supposed to be over at 1:00 AM.However, it got extended to 2:00 AM.
Around 40 people were standing outside of the bar on the third floor after it had closed when the shooting began.
As soon as the shooting started, people started to run for their lives and their was a mess of people falling around.
The 28-year old was shot on the neck or head according to the local police department reports.
Two other people — a 23-year-old man and 24-year-old woman — were also injured in the shooting and took themselves to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Michael Arrington with police department’s homicide division.
No suspects have been arrested, the authorities said, and they requested that any witnesses who left the scene come forward with additional information.
Finner identified the deceased man as Takeoff of the rap group Migos.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said they have met with Takeoff’s mother.
“It doesn’t matter how famous you are. You may not be famous at all,” Turner said. “Anybody who loses his or her life is a life lost, and there are family members and friends who are grieving as a result.”“I got many calls from Houston and outside of Houston, and everyone spoke of what a great young man he is, how peaceful he is, what a great artist (he is),” Finner said, later adding that Takeoff was very well respected and nonviolent.
“I would not expect him to be involved … We have no reason to believe that he was involved in anything criminal at the time,” Finner said.
